25 May - Beetroot Blue Wins Workplace Provider of the Year at the Sammies 2011
Our development team headed off to London last week in search of a title or two at the British Sandwich Association Annual Awards. Our Executive Development Chef Robbie competed, for the second year running, for the title of Sandwich Designer of the Year 2011. In front of a tough judging panel he presented the two creations that won him a place in the National finals. Unfortunately this wasn’t to be Robbie’s year, and although the judges were impressed by his innovative approach, the title just slipped his grasp! We are all very proud of how he performed and demonstrated his tasty creations.
That evening at ‘The Sammies’ – the British Sandwich Industry Awards ceremony, we mixed with many of the biggest players in the Sandwich industry, which was a bit daunting – M&S, Tesco and Prêt to name a few. We were hopeful for a win in the Workplace Provider category, again we were finalists for the second year running. All of our hopes (and hard work) were rewarded. We are truly delighted to share the news that Beetroot Blue won ‘Workplace Provider of the Year’
This award seeked to identify excellence and progress amongst those companies providing sandwiches in a workplace environment, whether through contract catering, on-site retailing or delivery. The judges took into account the general approach, range, presentation, and innovation the winning company demonstrated.
